Boating Accident?

From here:
Quote:

Devin Sullivan and his stepfather were fishing on Craighead Forest Lake when Sullivan started to reel in what he thought was a turtle, only to find a Remington 870 shotgun snagged on the end of the line.
See? When they come for the guns that you lost in a tragic boating accident, you can point to this story as proof that such accidents DO happen! Those guys found the results of someone's previous accident. They gotta believe us!

Re: Boating Accident?

I always take my PM's boating with me for ballast. I've had a couple accidents when not taking care to balance it properly.:s9:

Re: Boating Accident?

While boating I lost my Pm's, firearms, ammo plus preps in a tragic but hilarious incedent involving clowns on jet-skis throwing pies while singing the opera version of Dirty Deeds from AC/DC...

No really!

It's a LOT harder to snag PMs with a fishing hook if they fall overboard.

I keep trying to tell you guys, stay away from boats. They're dangerous!:36_1_30:

Boating with PM's and weapons(and then losing them) is a time-honored tradition dating back to the dawn of the age of sail. One only has to look at all the gold and cannons recovered from the ocean floor to know that!

Very true and so amazing it still happens today. We really are some boating safety slackers on here.:111:

I hate it when it happens, but the best fishing in my lake is right over that bottomless hole , and damned if I don't keep loosing my fancy silver lures there. But at least they're not made of toxic lead ...

yeah I could see that happening...

one time i laid my .375 h & h up on the gunnel while boarding and took off into the chop for about 3 miles before I remembered where I had laid it. i was sure i lost it overboard, but when i looked there it was snug up against the cabin. i was very fortunate...now i always run down a mental checklist to verify all my critical gear is properly loaded and stowed...

The recent boating accident involving the NFL players is a perfect example of how not to run a boating incident. Your stuff goes overboard and gets lost but YOU are supposed to come home OK.
